{"id":266,"date":"2019-06-19T11:07:30","date_gmt":"2019-06-19T15:07:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rivier.edu\/financial-aid\/apply\/fafsa-online\/"},"modified":"2026-04-08T10:53:34","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T14:53:34","slug":"fafsa-online","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.rivier.edu\/financial-aid\/apply\/fafsa-online\/","title":{"rendered":"FAFSA Online"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All students requesting financial assistance need to <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">complete the FASFA<\/a> annually for each year of attendance by the application deadline.*<\/p>\n<h2>Application Deadlines<\/h2>\n<p>Deadlines are published on the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FAFSA homepage<\/a>. You will need to select your state of legal residence and the school year for which you\u2019re applying for federal student aid. All students who plan to attend Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ in 2025-2026 should complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA as soon as possible. Late applicants will be awarded on a funds-available basis.<\/p>\n<h2>First-Time Filing a FAFSA<\/h2>\n<p>If you haven\u2019t done so, you need to <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/fsa-id\/create-account\/launch?src=edgov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">create your FSA ID and password<\/a>;<strong> note that dependent undergraduate students&#8217; parents need to create their own FSA ID and password <\/strong>(in addition to their dependent student). Your FSA ID and password will be activated immediately if you link it with your e-mail address or mobile phone number. Otherwise, it can take up to 3 business days for your identification to be verified with the Social Security Administration. Request your FSA ID and password as soon as possible, and make note of them as you will use them each school year that you file a FAFSA.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have the necessary FSA ID(s) and password(s), access and follow the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\/filling-out\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">step-by-step instructions for completing your FAFSA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­&#8217;s Title IV Code: 002586<\/h2>\n<p>Include this code in your FAFSA to have your financial aid results sent to the University.<\/p>\n<p>You will receive a confirmation notice from the federal government. If you have not received your confirmation within a month of filing, call Federal Student Aid, an office of the U.S. Department of Education, at 1-800-433-3243.
