Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Pitch Contest
The contest will be held at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» on April 27th at 6pm in the Reception Room on the campus of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³». The prize package, including legal, startup, and financial consulting, totals over $10,000. This event is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Pitch Contest emerged over a three-year period from an undergraduate course on entrepreneurship and innovation. The one semester course includes students from a range of majors, including Management, Finance, Homeland Security, Sport Management. Students work in teams to develop a startup idea that must be financially viable, include a strong, short-term plan, and be clearly and deeply connected to the local community. The Pitch Contest, which is the culmination of the course, allows each team five minutes to pitch their startup in front of a panel of experts. The winning team receives a substantial prize package, including legal, financial, marketing, and management consulting from a team of established experts. Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» believes the course and contest will be a wonderful vehicle for young, passionate students to develop business ideas which contribute to the regional economy and have a clear and sustained community impact.
